How students from NYU Steinhardt participated in a hackathon
EdTech workshop
CHALLANGE
StartED is an educational innovation challenge inviting up to 50 participants to create solutions for the future of work and learning through technology, data and design.
I was invited to be a design mentor and judge at this event.
During the course of a day, I met with 6 ventures to hear their ideas, evaluate their work, and provide them with honest, constructive feedback on their product, business or prototype through leveraging design thinking methodology.
The attendees came from a diverse background, from a high school to a PhD student, in business, STEM, humanities and more.
SOLUTION
Successfully mentored 6 ventures through Design Thinking methods and we were able to to create solutions for the future of work and learning through technology, data and design.
At the end of the day, ventures were given 90 seconds to present their education technology product. I also participated as a judge and shared my feedback and guidance with ventures.
RESULTS
Inspired ventures to think out of the box and look at challenges from a user-centric approach.
Built meaningful connections with creative enthusiasts and mentor them on their new ventures to this day.
